So Blind

Someone finally drew the curtain, and all the flowers gone.
The morning grows so uncertain, as it's slipping through the dawn.
Your eyes peered so mysteriously, as they faded into mine,
Never took anything seriously, how could you be so blind?

Every time your back was turned, I fell in guarding hard.
Took some blows but I learned, You weren't in the playing cards.
I sat back and watched the clock, tick away the time,
Waited all night by the docks, how could you be so blind?

When your heart was shattered, and your mind filled with moans,
With me you were sheltered, never searching for a home.
Assuming as possession, left to feel confined,
Stranded me in a ditch somewhere, how could you be so blind?

Years have come and gone, as I rested on your breath.
When you fell to pieces, I gathered what was left.
All that time went wasted, left me redefined,
So bittersweet it tasted, how could we be so blind?
