Took a Trip

Took a trip with some good friends
to lie in the sand
to think some things over
so that I'd understand
but things didn't work out
it's not often that they do
till the tide started turning
and then I found you

Like a light in a window
you helped me to see
a pathway from the darkness
and how it could be
I stared at the ocean
for a minute or two
saw the tide quickly changing
cause I had found you

Like the wind to a dense fog
you cleared up my day
my nightmares forgotten
they had all blown away
and dreams they were all mine
and the sky had turned blue
for the tide it was a changing
and I had found you
