Poor 'aul Peg

Verse 1
Poor Aul Peg was boiling an egg in a saucepan of water one morning,
When all of a sudden, out of the blue, a Policeman called without warning.
Unprepared to feel so scared, she tripped and put out her back,
Lay on the ground in agony, nearly had a heart attack.

Poor Aul Peg was buying a leg of chicken one afternoon,
When all of a sudden she lost her balance, tripped and fell over a spoon.
A Shopping Bag Lady acting real crazy came over and gave her a hand,
Peg gave her a kiss, a hug and a smile, thanked her for helping her stand.

When all of a sudden a smell on the breeze told her that a fire was starting.
When she heard the smoke alarm she jumped and started to run,
Fell on the ground, dropped her hat, heavily scratched her bum.

Poor Aul Peg was having to beg for her coal to keep her warm,
When all of a sudden she heard a crash from the clouds, a thunderstorm.
When she saw the lightning strike, she panicked and ran up the stairs,
Woke up the next day in a hospital. What happened? She fell down the stairs.
