Writer's Block

When I was a child
I wasn't much of an adult now was I
When I was an adult
I wasn't really convinced that I had made it
When you called me your friend
I was curse with endless boredom
When I humored revisions
Called it "good ol' days" or some shit

It's the most important thing in the world
But I can't think of a clever way to phrase it

When I was in your pants
We really seemed to get along much better
When we learned each other
That's when the paint peeled up
When I was complacent
I'd be the last to notice
When we gave up on maintenance
The weather had its way with us

Everything I've said I've said before
Everything I've felt I've felt before
It's déjà vu
My thoughts are screaming nothing new

When I found the humor
It was a minor consolation
When that got tired
I found it left me too
When will I learn
Constantly but never
Doesn't it even matter
Don't want to sound like a pessimist but
