Luyện nghe bài hát The Battle

In the dawn the Bishop's men
in the damp
But the came not from the cold
And throughout the camp

The trembling sensed the fear
Of thoughtful men
Who prayed wives and families
Might see them again

The sent a dawn patrol
To investigate the
Of forces at the command
behind the gate

The ground mist hid the approach
As drew close enough to show
The on the battlements
And an archer his bow

From the tower a sentry fell
As an arrow pierced his
And his flight into the moat
Seemed of a gull

The patrol reported
There was much to see
But the strong and silent
A symbol of the

The men took communion
As the rays of the sun
Lit up the castle's walls
The day begun

From the castle green the took flight
To the high in the east
To their carrion the battlefield
Set a table for a

A of black, the Bishop's men
Equality right
Swarmed like across the hill
Their aim at last in

The King's men in purest white
Were driven back by
And the grew more violent
As the battle took its

The Bishops gave the
No to be shown
The will reap rewards
When the King is

The sight of children dead
Made hardened soldiers
The outer walls to fall
They moved towards the

The surveyed the battlefield
Their hungry beady
in the sight of death
Showing no

The pressure steadily
As the neared the gate
And the King called to his knights
It's lives or the State

the anxious King began to fail
As many he might
The Queen ran screaming the walls
And the men to fight

The Bishop's men were
As the afternoon drew
And the King's men lowered the
And poured out the gate

They fought their way the bridge
The men like leaves
Or of corn that fall in swathes
The vicious cleaves

The receded up the hill
The waste of land
Once decaying swamp
A shore of white sand

A priest was seen to bless
dying and the dead
As he around the battlefield
His running red

If uniform were black or
His eyes never see
And made no distinction
man he be

As darkness fell both camps
Their soldiers slain cattle
Leaving the rooks to feast
The victors of the

At evensong both camps
sad depleted ranks
As of the battle
Gave God grateful thanks
