Luyện nghe bài hát The Battle

In the dawn the Bishop's men
in the damp
But the came not from the cold
And spread throughout the

The horses sensed the fear
Of thoughtful men
Who prayed wives and families
Might see them again

The bishops a dawn patrol
To the weight
Of forces at the command
Ensconced behind the

The ground mist hid the approach
As they drew close to show
The on the battlements
And an drew his bow

From the tower a sentry fell
As an arrow pierced his
And his headlong flight the moat
Seemed that of a

The reported little
There was much to see
But the and silent castle
A of the free

The King's men took
As the first of the sun
Lit up the castle's gloomy
The day begun

From the castle the rooks took flight
To the high trees in the
To their carrion minds the
Set a table for a

A tide of black, the men
Equality right
like ants across the hill
Their aim at last in

The men dressed in purest white
driven back by force
And the fighting grew more
As the took its course

The Bishops gave the
No to be shown
The sacrifice will reap
When the is overthrown

The sight of children lying
Made soldiers weep
The outer walls to fall
They towards the keep

The rooks surveyed the
Their hungry beady
in the sight of death
no surprise

The pressure steadily
As the Bishops the gate
And the desperate called to his knights
It's lives or the State

When the anxious King began to
As thought he might
The Queen ran round the walls
And the men to fight

The Bishop's men tiring
As the afternoon drew
And the King's men lowered the
And out through the gate

They fought way across the bridge
The men falling leaves
Or of corn that fall in swathes
The vicious cleaves

The tide up the hill
The of reclaimed land
Once swamp became
A of pure white sand

A blinded priest was to bless
dying and the dead
As he stumbled the battlefield
His cassock red

If uniform were or white
His eyes could see
And death no distinction
man he be

As darkness both camps withdrew
soldiers slain like cattle
Leaving the to feast alone
The of the battle

At evensong both camps
Their sad depleted
As survivors of the
Gave God their thanks
