I walk a time upon this earth,
Caught here between a painful birth
And a most unpleasant death.
I cannot, will not charge ahead,
Cannot choose to retreat instead;
I'm here to get my money's worth.

You're a place of peace and pardon.

With measured stride and pen in hand,
Stopping only to catch my breath.
Won't travel down a dead-end street;
