April Fool

The April fool is exhausted
After a thirty-one day March.
His extremities are frosted,
His bones ache, and his throat is parched.

He sure has seen much better nights,
And he's seen better days.
Before he crosses me again,
He'd better look both ways.

That April fool's been talking smack
To everyone at Snake's Place:
Next time he stabs me in the back,
He says he'll do it to my face.

Brave words coming from a fool's mouth,
Tumbling from a scrambled brain.
Not sure why he's calling me out;
Must be a poster boy for pain.

And he waits for stop signs to change;
