Follow now, o shepherds, rise up from your sleeping.
Angels far from here a blessed watch are keeping.
Look up, look up! A star shines in the heavens
calling us to come. Our holy King is given.

We must leave our flocks. The night is swiftly flying.
Trust a star to show us where the Child is lying.
Prepare a gift that we would place before Him.
We are humble shepherds, yet would we adore Him.

Humbly born is He, yet safe from earthly danger.
He is the King, Almighty pow'r possessing.
