Bite the Bullet

It's hard to Hide your story, when it's written all over your body.
We use pain to relieve the pain, oh the irony.
They tell you to follow your heart, but when your hearts in pieces,
Which piece do you follow?

Choking on the heart in my throat,
The pain is getting harder to swallow.

When I was 16, I put my mattress on the floor. To rid the mosters from under my bed.
But when I wasn't looking,
They crawled up through my ears, & into my head.
over time, I ran out of tears to shed, & learned to make my skin cry instead.

So could you still kiss my lips?
Knowing razors kissed my wrists?

It's scary that no one saw the suicide, happening right behind my eyes.
I'm still here, but I can never forget.
What it's like to know you're alive, But feel dead.
& when you left,
I wrote your name on the bullet.
So they would know you were the last thing that went through my head.
I put the barrel to my temple,
& curlde my finger around the trigger.
Tears rolling down my face, My eye wandered to your picture.
& Something told me, not tonight.
To bite the bullet.
But we both know, I hate the taste of Lead.
