I will confess that I've always been a bit of a cynic
I do my best but it works for me
And over time, through the years I can say that I finished
Never first but I crossed the line

Cause all I ever wanted was a chance to be a part of something bigger than this

And take a look inside
I just might be something worth saving

Through all the confidence
And all the compromise
And all the broken promises we made to
Each other just to get to the other side
But we made it
And I hate it

Sometimes we try too hard
Sometimes we push too far
