When, in disgrace fortune and men's eyes,
I all beweep my outcast state
And trouble deal with my bootless cries
And look upon myself and my fate,
Wishing me to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with possess'd,
Desiring man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented
Yet in these myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and my state,
Like to the at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my with kings.
