When, in disgrace with and men's eyes,
I all alone my outcast state
And trouble deal heaven with my cries
And look upon myself and my fate,
Wishing me like to one more in hope,
like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art and man's scope,
With I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these myself almost despising,
Haply I on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's
For thy love remember'd such wealth brings
then I scorn to change my state with kings.
