Twas the before Christmas
When all through the
Not a creature was
Not even a

The all hung
By the chimney care
In hopes that St.
Soon would be

The were nestled
All safe in beds
While visions of
Danced in their

And Mom in her
And I in my cap
Had just down
For a long nap

When out on the
arose such a clatter
I sprang my bed
To see was the matter

Away to the
I flew like a
Tore the shutters
And up the sash

The moon on the
Of the new fallen
Gave the of midday
To below

When, what to my eyes
Should
But a sleigh
And eight reindeer

With a little ol'
So and quick
I knew in a
It be St. Nick

rapid than eagles
His courses came
As he and shouted
And called them by

"Now Dasher, now
Now Prancer, now
On Comet, on
On Doner, and Blitzen"

"To the top of the
To the top of the
Now dash away, dash
away all"

As dry before the wild
fly when they meet
With an
to the sky

So up to the
The they flew
a sleigh full of toys
And St. too

And then in a
I heard on the
The and pawing
Of each little

As I drew in my
And was turning
the chimney, St. Nicholas
Came with a

He was dressed, all in fur
From his to his foot
And his
Were all
With and soot

A of toys
He had on his back
And he looked like a
Just opening his

His eyes, how twinkle
His how merry
His cheeks like roses
His like a cherry

His drawl mouth
Was up like a bow
And the of his chin
Was a white as the

The stump of his
He held tight in his
And the it
Encircled his like a wreath

He had a face
And a little belly
That shook he laughed
Like a bowl of jelly

He was and plump
A right old elf
I laughed I saw him
In of myself

A of his eye
And a of his head
Soon me to know
I had to dread

He not a word
But straight
To his and filled
All the
turned with a jerk

An laying a
side his nose
An a nod
Up the chimney he

He to his sleigh
To his gave a whistle
An away, all flew
the down of a thistle

But I him exclaim
As he drove out of
Happy to all
And to all a
