The Rock

Standing near the waters' shore - I can see to the other side
Waves are tossing back & forth - A rock's in the midst of the tide
Standing strong all by itself - The rock's sticking out of the sea
If I cross I can rest there - The rock will always protect me
I get out - on the waters - My eyes are focused on the rock
I look around - at the waves - I'm starting to sink, I need help
Save me I'm drowning - I'm a sinking man

I closed my eyes as I swam
I prayed and hoped I wouldn't die
A wave caught me and tossed me
I knew this was the end of my life

I landed on the rock safely
