The Reason We're Poor

some people are illuminated
some people are blinded by the light
but it doesn't make a difference anyway
cause we'll never know what's right

some people need to take the edge off
while other's are just edgy enough
some fall into a demographic
of items and things

look how easily books have been replaced
by television sets and video games
but it's all just entertainment anyway

now holidays have lost their meaning
but then again so has almost everything
that was made to serve a greater purpose

and there's only one thing to blame
it's all of us we've fallen into the game

don't give your money to the man
although its so convenient, they're just
holding out their hands
don't give your money to the source
they'll trick you into thinking that
you're saving.
but their the reason we're poor

ever wonder if politics are rigged?
ever notice there's a pill for everything?
ever get that feeling that you're nothing?

so what made you buy your car
your shirt, your shoes?
is it cause those items reflect you?
now your a walking advertisement

and there's only one thing to do
we can't stop them but they cant get to you
if you

don't give your money to the man
although its so convenient, they're just
holding out their hands
don't give your money to the source
they'll trick you into thinking that
you're saving.
