Sunday afternoon I was living in a 2000 foot house
With all the comforts of home that it nice
Watching my TV, up the AC,
and sippin on a glass of tea with ice

Monday night I was on the floor, down at my big brothers
Listnin to the and sweatin like a hog
Tuesday I ate an MRE and drove to for gasoline
And a place where I could make that assistance telephone call

Well it only em six months to set me up and to be honest with you,
I am truly blessed. Cause theres nothing like able to sit on the bed
and watch the stove suppers cooking
and be to see the TV all at the same time.
At night I can hear the tattered tarp on whats left of my house
flapping in the breeze and I am thankful that I a roof over my head.
And Heaven-forbid if we ever go through something this again,
well pick ourselves up, dust off and go on.
Cause just the kind of folks we are down here.

Well I change a lightbulb without a letter from my Congressman
It takes a certified FEMA Repairman just to out my doormat
And the funniest that happened to me was
Well, put in these lil ol' 2x8 doorsteps
And wouldn't you know about the third day them fell flat
