Susan:
There's a beautiful movie star
On the cover of a magazine

But the closest that I'll get to that
Is turning through these pages in the checkout line

Heidi (spoken):
My father is a very prominent attorney. For as long as I can remember, he's said to me, "You're smart, you're a natural in front of people; you'd make a great lawyer. End of meeting."

Susan:
If only I were wiser
If only I were bolder
If only I were faster
I could outrun the voice that says
That'll never be me

Heidi (spoken):
So, I apply, and get accepted, to an extremely prestigious university with a very fancy law school. I don't want to drop any names; let's just say, it rhymes with Duke.

Susan:
How'd they get there?
Where's that road
That could lead me out of this nowhere town tonight?
But golden tickets don't get mailed
To this one-horse town zip code
So there ain't no use in me waiting for an invite

Heidi (spoken):
I know in my heart of hearts that I have no absolutely no desire to become a lawyer, but it would make my dad so proud to see me carry on the family business. And I would love to make my dad proud. So off I go.

Susan:
There's a gate on a hillside
That opens to a field
Where the grass is greener

Heidi:
But I don't dare to go up there
