I remember when I was very small
used to be this light switch in the hall
I was much too to reach it so I couldn't turn on the light
My mom would have to it off at bedtime ev'ry night
And of my dad could reach it and my sister could reach it too
But somehow I was too small and what was I to do?

Well time went by and I just grew and
And I was tall enough - yes I was tall
I could stretch and reach the switch in the hall enough
And I have turned it on and off a hundred times a day 'cause I was
Tall

Momma kept a sack of on a shelf
That everyone could reach except
I would stand up on my tip toes but I wouldn't quite the sack
It's not much fun to be too to get yourself a snack
And of course my dad could reach it and my sister could it too
But somehow I was just too and what was I to do?

time went by and I just grew and grew
And I was tall
I stretch and reach that shelf up on the wall enough
And I bet I must have had a hundred snacks that day 'cause I was
enough

So if you reach the shelf up on the wall
Well no one can they are young and small
'Cause everyone starts out little and then ev'ryone and grows
It's something very simple, ev'rybody knows yes
Your dad was really little once your was little too
And even I was little once and then I grew and
And right now you're tall enough for you

Exactly far and thin enough and small enough
And although you're taller in your very special way
