Luyện nghe bài hát 't Wijnglas

's Avonds w'in de kranten
Hoe het die dag aan 't front
Zoveel honderd gevallen
Zoveel weer gewond
Zoveel kind'ren zonder
moeders zonder kind
En we vragen wanneer toch
Dat een einde vindt

des morgens -welk een vreugde-
Lezen w'in het
Dat er een geweest is
In de een of stad

Waar Lloyd weer heeft gedronken
Op het welzijn van z'n
Waar de werd gewonnen
Met het in de hand

's Avonds lezen w'in de
een boot getorpedeerd
Zoveel uitgevaren
maar teruggekeerd
Zoveel graan verloren
Zoveel mensen brood
Zoveel vrouwen, zoveel
bij de hongerdood

Maar des morgens een vreugde-
w'in het ochtendblad
Van een en deftig feestmaal
In de een of and're
Waar de "Kaiser" gedronken
Op z'n land
En "den Alten Gott"
Met het wijnglas in de

Elke dag brengt ellende
armoe, nieuwe rouw
Elke dag krijgt ons
In de mensen een knauw
Angstig vragen we hoe nog
Deze oorlogswaanzin
Welke des duivels
Deze toch bestuurt

gaan de diplomaten
Naar hun feestmaal en
Satan heeft aan 't hoofd der
Zich als neergezet
En hij vult met een grijnslach
tot de rand
Met het rode der volk'ren
't Willig wijnglas in hun

The
(originally lyrics written by Dirk Witte around 1917/1918)

In the evening we read the
what happenend on the front:
Hundreds fallen in
Thousands wounded.
So many children their father
So mothers without their child.
And we ask ourselves
will the end.

But in the morning - oh a joy,
We read the newspapers:
About a in one of the larger capitals
...* made a toast
To the of his country.
the war was won
With a in his hand!

In the evening we the newspapers:
Yet ship torpedoed.
So men put to sea
So few but did return.
So many tons of lost
So many mouths bread.
So women, so many children
to death from starvation.

But in the - what a joy,
We read the papers:
Of a rich and stately
In one of the capitals.
Where ...* a toast
To his country
And ...*
With a in his hand!

day new misery,
new poverty, new
Every day our in humankind
a blow.
In we ask ourselves
How much longer this rage of war go on
Which of Satan's
Is our world?

Gravely the set off,
To feast and banquet.
Satan put himself as
At the of the table
Where he fills a grinn,
time to the brim
With the red of mankind
The willing wineglasses in hands!
