Symptoms of a First Date

In a therapy session with my ceiling.
Staring, asking "Should I say hello?"
It's been a week since you said,
that you'll be gone for a while.
To which I reply, "Don't you worry now,
cause girl all I've got is time."

All I got is time.

Now I'll admit my thought regularly jump to you.
How you've been, and what have you been up to.
When I wonder, do you think of me?
Do you grant me the same kind of courtesy.
My only reply is the acoustic echo of,
this little room of mine.

This room of mine.

Like a meteorite, I enter your atmosphere.
Way to fast, burning up with questions like;
Should I give you space? Or continue playing my part.
So I decided to slow down, my "get to know you race"
And write all these feelings off,
as symptoms of a first date.

Please don't try to hurry back to quickly.
You deserve this get away,
from all the things that make you feel uneasy.
But know this, I will miss your company.
And we will catch up when you get back and we share,
one of your hometown smoothies.

Your home town smoothies, yeah.

Now if you have the time,
for one more last goodbye, one last goodbye.
Could you pencil me in for one more coffee so I,
can spend one more second before I have to say.
