The Lord appeared to
And asked him in his
Just what you want
If I would you anything

Solomon said to the Lord
On riches I won't
grant to me the wisdom Lord
To lead people well

When he woke the had blessed
The on which he sat
And nobody caught him
Sleepin' after

heard about him
And from far and wide
He'd lay his of wisdom on
And open up eyes

And didn't Solomon have it all
Didn't lead his people well?
Didn't have all together?
Don't his ring clearly as a bell?

Two women to Solomon
Both had birth
I'm troubled dear kindly king
help me said the first

One while I lay sleeping
woman's baby died
She laid its body on my
it for mine

The other woman to him
That it was not
And Solomon said the child
tell you what we'll do

We'll him with a sword
And to each disperse
The mother cried, oh, no
give the child to her

And didn't have it all together?
Didn't Solomon his people well?
Solomon have all together?
Don't his words clearly as a bell?

Solomon have it all together?
