Saints of Sudan

I hear a cry for freedom from the heart of South Sudan,
From persecuted believers driven from their land.
Too many years they have suffered.
Too many people have died.
I'm calling out to you, hear their freedom cry!

I hear a cry for mercy from the orphans of the womb,
Who live their childhood days in fear,
And never know what life is for.
In slavery they have suffered.
Their innocence has died.
I'm calling out to you, hear their freedom cry!

Say a prayer for the saints of Sudan, when you pray tonight.
Justice and mercy, peace in the land, for Sudan tonight.

This forgotten world of knowing years of war and pain.
The prisoners of this wilderness are calling you to pray.

I hear a song of freedom. From a burned out church they pray.
They will keep believing that peace will come one day.
Their hope, it is in Jesus Christ, and for this name they die.
