Pictures in Her Mind

Early in the morning sun won't seem to rise
Clouds on the horizon mixed with tears in her eyes
Great expectations slowly slip away
She falls a little further with each passing day

And only God can save her now
I hope He does somehow

I wonder what she sees looking through the pictures in her mind
I wonder what it is she's searching for she can't seem to find
Can she leave this mess behind her
Will happiness ever find her through the pictures in her mind

She searches for a harbor, searches for relief
But there's no sign of redemption and no sign of peace
She's alone in an open field in a pouring rain
She slides into another pill just to hide the pain

And only God can save her now
