Luyện nghe bài hát Mr. Shorty

Nobody where he came from
They knew he came in
Slowly he to the end of the bar
And he ordered up one of gin

Well, I could see he wasn't a large man
I could tell that he too tall
I judged him to be 'bout five three
And his voice was a soft Texas

Said he was needin' some
'Fore he could for the west
Said he could do all kind of work
he could ride with the best

There in his eyes was sadness
That comes from the need of a
And tho' he tried, he couldn't hide
The loneliness there within

Said he would work the winter
For thirty a month and his
I to say where he might land a job
When a came in through the door

And I could he was lookin' for trouble
From the way he came stompin' in
He told me to leave there by himself
down and wait on a man

The of the little man narrowed
The disappeared from his face
Gone was the friendliness that I had
And a wild of hate took its place

But the big one continued to him
And he me that I'd better go
Find him a of glasses of milk
maybe Shorty would grow

When the little man spoke, there was
He made sure that heard
Slowly he stepped from the bar
And I remember these words

Oh, it's plain you're lookin' for trouble
Trouble's what I try to
If that's what you want, then that's you'll get
'Cause cowboy, we're packin' guns

His hand was already
Feet wide apart on the
I hadn't noticed but on his hip
Was a short bass forty-four

It was plain, he was and waitin'
He leaned a bit and said
"When you me Shorty, say Mister, my friend
Maybe you'd be dead"

In the room was a silence
As the big one stepped out on the
All drinkin' stopped and the tick of the
Said would wait ten seconds more

He cussed or twice in a whisper
And he said with a snarl on his
Nobody's to me, little man
And he grabbed for the gun on his

But the little man's was like lightning
The bass forty-four was the
The forty-four spoke and it sent lead and
And seventeen of flame

For the big one had never cleared
Beaten he could start
A little round hole had on his shirt
The bullet went through his heart

The little man there a moment
Then the bass forty-four
always this way so I never stay
Slowly he out the door

Nobody knew where he came
They forget he came by
They won't forget how a gun
One night the difference in size

As for me, I'll remember the
Shown in the of the man
If we someday, you can bet I would say
That me, Mr. Shorty, your friend
