Luyện nghe bài hát Mr. Shorty

Nobody where he came from
only knew he came in
Slowly he to the end of the bar
And he ordered up one of gin

Well, I see that he wasn't a large man
I could that he wasn't too tall
I judged him to be five foot three
And his voice was a Texas drawl

Said he was some wages
'Fore he could ride for the
Said he do most all kind of work
Said he could ride with the

in his blue eyes was sadness
That comes from the need of a
And tho' he tried, he still hide
The there deep within

he would work through the winter
For thirty a and his board
I to say where he might land a job
When a fellow came in through the

And I could tell he was lookin' for
From the way that he stompin' in
He told me to leave Shorty there by
Come and wait on a man

The of the little man narrowed
The smile from his face
Gone was the that I had seen
And a look of hate took its place

But the big one to mock him
And he told me that I'd go
Find him a couple of glasses of
Then maybe would grow

When the little man spoke, there was
He made sure everyone heard
Slowly he away from the bar
And I remember these words

Oh, it's plain that lookin' for trouble
Trouble's what I try to
If that's what you want, then that's what get
'Cause cowboy, both packin' guns

His was already positioned
Feet wide on the floor
I noticed but there on his hip
Was a short barreled bass

It was plain, he was ready and
He leaned a bit and said
"When you call me Shorty, say Mister, my
Maybe you'd be dead"

In the room was a terrible
As the big one out on the floor
All drinkin' and the tick of the clock
Said death would wait ten more

He once or twice in a whisper
And he said a snarl on his lips
Mister to me, little man
And he for the gun on his hips

But the little man's was like lightning
The forty-four was the same
The forty-four spoke and it lead and smoke
And seventeen inches of

For the big one had never cleared
Beaten he could start
A little round hole had appeared on his
The bullet clear through his heart

The little man stood there a
holstered the bass forty-four
It's always this way so I never
Slowly he walked out the

knew where he came from
They won't he came by
They won't forget how a gun
One made the difference in size

As for me, remember the sadness
in the eyes of the man
If we someday, you can bet I would say
That it's me, Mr. Shorty, friend
