Luyện nghe bài hát Leslie Is Different

The neighbor up the road brought the
Joe and May had a phone
Five children grown and gone to
Now they lived out on Lake alone
And the nurse at the big hospital
"We've got a baby here with no eyes
It's retarded, it's got palsy
Six old living only to die
And we remembered the Englishwoman
to hire out as a nurse-governess
May Lemke, will you take this broken off our hands?"
And God loves a 'cause she said yes. She said:

Leslie is
Like everyone in the
He's kind of awkward, he's of fragile
of graceful, kind of tough
He's kind of slow, he's of clever
He's just and that's enough.
He just lay helpless and silent
Not a tear, not a smile, not a
But they held him and rocked him and sang him to
And talked to him as if he heard
And he grew the sun and affection
Though his body was and small
And a hundred times they stood him his hands upon the fence
And a hundred watched him fall
And daughters warned it was useless
They said, "Mama, boy will break your heart."
She said, "Love comes easy
And miracles come hard." She said:

May to play the piano
And the old songs from the war
was always music on the radio
And the records she at the store
And they swore he was listening
Though of course was no way to know
Maybe he was flying in his own sky
Where no one else would go
Maybe he was in a forest
demons and woodspirits dwell
But for years he had never spoke a word
Never taken one step for himself. But said:

Along three in the morning
A ripple of music broke the
Joe's asleep at the TV again
May reached over to turn on the
But the music kept getting
And the TV was and cold
Leslie was playing the
And his fingers agile and bold
A Tchaikovsky concerto
Like water over a dam
A river of flowed through his hands
And each cried out, "I am." Because
