Late one night I thought of all of my deeds
What worth was I to the world?
Never would follow and with no one to lead
I dissolved in the shadows
Do I ever know my reasons?
Do I ever know my cause?

To keep safe from the ravages of the savages
To numb the pain from the thorns in my side

Deep inside I felt this hold over me
The battle over my soul
Both sides determined and striving to succeed

What on earth am I here for?
Do I even know the rules?

The problem with hiding in the shadows
