Hillbound

things have been alright up here on the surface
but now i must dive down, before you waste my time
we leave ourselves behind in those we set aside
right now you may not mind, but i think you will in time

we are all bound somewhere,
and im bound nowhere that you are
but maybe someday
i will learn to open up my arms

soon ill be headed for the hills
while everyone is at the mills
this is to say goodbye, and to tell you why
though ill be gone before this reaches you
sprawled out in the open fields

it couldnt rain enough to wash you from my skin
so now ill do the best that i can to start over again
