Luyện nghe bài hát Forefathers

They came from
The land of sun
And the North Atlantic
When this was young
They'd that in America
man was free
To live the way he to live
And be who he be.
Some of them were there
And the frozen soil
But all got was poverty
For all their toil
They say one was a
Who sailed the world round
Made home port--got one night
off the pier and drowned.
My mother was of Scottish
It's there she was born
brought her to America in 1924
They left behind the
And the covered hills
And came to find
broad, expectant dreams
And wills.
My worked the steel mills
Of central
His was his jewel
His son was his boy
For thirty years he worked the
And the coke-fed fires
And looked the day
When he'd at last 65
And retire.

And the sons become the
And the daughters will be
As the torch is passed from hand to
And we struggle through our
the generations wander
The survives
And all of us
From to dust
We all become
By and by.
The woman and the man wed
after the war
And they in this river town
And three fine she bore
One a lawyer
And one fine drew
And one this lonely soul
Who sits now
And sings song to you.
(Repeat chorus)
