Five Hundred Years

She seemed like a ghost from the past
The substance of which will not last
And it seems I've known her five hundred years
A princess frozen in time by a spell

And the moonlight splashed on the water
And she laughed as she played with the otter
And the starlight danced in her eyes
And the wind, whispered through her hair
And when I reached for her
She was not there

Perhaps if I pray hard enough
The spell will be broken my ghost will take form
She'll walk towards me, swirling mists at her feet
She'll stretch out her arms, I'll hold out my hands
And at last, we'll touch
Like a ship lost at sea, then touching dry land
