Brighter and the lighting flashed

Till their clothes were burned with each quivering
Then out of the din came a yell
Ha ha said the devil we're nearing
Oh how the passengers with pain
begged old Satan to stop that train

The stranger awoke with an cry
His clothes wet with sweat and his standing high
He fell on his on the bar room floor
And a prayer like never before

And the prayers and were not in vain
For he never rode that train
