Dawn Chorus

Plot-lines of whilom skies
Surmise in marble eyes.
A web (distilled
In liquored skills
And naked light)
To ease me through the night.
Why am I still clothed?
A hungry comatose.
Our earth has spun
And races run
And still my dreams of you
Go undisturbed
...and from these maudlin dreams,
The dawn chorus sings;
It's songs of love,
Of what once was -
It's like a drug to me and
I can't get enough

Of dreaming of you -
