At Tubberneering and
many a Hessian lay in his gore;
Ah, Father Murphy, had aid over,
The green flag floated from to shore!
At Hill, o'er the pleasant Slaney,
Our heroes vainly back to back,
And the Yeos at Tullow took Father
And burned his upon the rack.
God grant you glory, brave Murphy,
And open Heaven to all men;
The cause called you may call tomorrow
In fight for the green again.
