Amazing Grace

amazing grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
was blind but now I see
was grace that taught my heart to fear
and grace my fears relieved
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed
through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
was grace that brought me safe this far
and grace will lead me home
the earth has promised good to me
her word my hope secures
she will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures
yes, when this flesh and heart shall
fail
and mortal life shall cease

a life of joy and peace
