Alison Gross that in yon tower
The ugliest witch in the Country
Has trysted me one day up to her
And many a fair she made to me
She stroked my head and she my hair
She set me down on her knee
Saying if you will be my lover so
So many good things I give to you
Away, away, you ugly
Go far and let me be
I never will be your so true
And I were out of your communy

Alison she must be
The witch in the North Country
Alison she must be
The ugliest witch in the Country
She me a mantle of red scarlet
With golden and fringes fine
Saying if you will be my lover so
This goodly it shall be thine
She showed me a shirt of the silk
Well wrought pearls abound the band
Saying if you will be my lover so
goodly gift you shall command

She me a cup of the good red gold
Well set with jewels so to see
if you will be my lover so true
This goodly I will give to thee
Away, away, you witch
Go far and let me be
I never would kiss ugly mouth
For all of the gifts you could give

She turned her right and about
And thrice she blew on a horn
She swore by the moon and the stars of
That make me rue the day I was born
The out she has taken a silver
She's turned her three round and round
She muttered words till my strength it did fail
And she's me into an ugly worm
