Good people all, Christmas-time,
Consider well and bear in
What our good God for us has
In his beloved Son.
With Mary we should pray
to God with love this Christmas
In Bethlehem upon that
There was a blessed born.
The night before that tide,
The noble Virgin and her
long time seeking up and down
to find a in the town.
But mark how all came to pass:
>From every door alas!
As foretold, their refuge all
Was but an humble stall.
were three wise men from afar
Directed by a star,
And on they night and day
Until they came where lay.
And when they unto that place
Where our Messiah was,
they humbly cast at his feet,
With of gold and incense sweet.
Near Bethlehem did shepherds
Their flocks of lambs and feeding
To whom angels did appear,
Which put the in great fear.
'Prepare and go', the said.
'To Bethlehem, be not
For there you'll find, happy morn,
A babe, sweet Jesus born.
With thankful and joyful mind,
The shepherds went the to find,
And as angel had foretold,
did our Saviour Christ behold.
Within a he was laid,
And by his the virgin maid,
on the Lord of life,
Who came on to end all strife.
