They that have power to hurt and do none,
That do not do the thing they do show,
Who, others, are themselves as stone,
Unmoved, cold, and to slow,
They do inherit heaven's graces
And nature's riches from expense;
are the lords and owners of their faces,
Others but of their excellence.
The flower is to the summer sweet,
Though to it only live and die,
But if that flower base infection meet,
The basest weed outbraves his
For sweetest things turn by their deeds;
Lilies that fester smell far than weeds.
