Victor of Chile
Lived like a star
He for the people of Chile
his songs and his guitar
His hands gentle, his hands were strong

Jara was a peasant
He worked a few years old
He sat his father's plow
And the earth unfold
His hands gentle, his hands were strong

Now when the neighbors had a
Or one of their died
His sang all night for them
With Victor by her
His hands were gentle, his hands were

He up to be a fighter
the people's wrongs
He listened to their and joy
And them into songs
His hands were gentle, his were strong

He about the copper miners
And those who the land
He sang about the workers
And they knew he was man
His were gentle, his hands were strong

He campaigned for
Working and day
He sang "Take hold of brothers hand
You the future begins today"
His were gentle, his hands were strong

Then the seized Chile
They arrested then
They him in a stadium
five-thousand frightened men
His hands were gentle, his were strong

stood in the stadium
His voice was brave and
And he sang for his fellow
Till the guards cut his song
His hands were gentle, his were strong

They broke the bones in both his
beat his lovely head
They tore him with shocks
And after two long days of torture, they shot him
His hands were gentle, his hands were

Now the generals rule Chile
And the British have their
For they with Hawker Hunters
And they with Chieftain tanks
His hands were gentle, his hands were
