an effort to reestablish these great hardwoods.

"Courtyard Lullaby"
The photographs which appear in this booklet
taken at a 16th hunting lodge in Portugal,
where Elisabeth Feryn and I stayed for a week.
the lodge was a courtyard, marked at each by
orange trees. The feel of the reminded me of
the Unicorn tapestries which hang in The
in New York City. The tapestries and the are
both with earthy, pre-Christian iconography -
depicting the mysterious life and cycle of the
seasons. It was in this courtyard that piece was

I spent a most haunting New Eve in Doolin,
Clare, Ireland some years ago, and was moved
by the of the some of the celebrations. Yet
I was met by deep reminders they may be the
remnants of the old meeting the "new". - L.M.
