[Chorus: 2X]
Who's the emcees?
Ain't no

Ain't no
the best emcees?
Ain't no
top 5 or alive
no best

It started out with the Kool Herc one of
the greats in 1980 Kurtis Blow hit us with The
then it was on
two years later Melle Mel dropped the
the same time I was born
grandmaster caz cold crushin it was
campaignin Eric B For President
straight out the Bronx the one known as Kris
Down Productions rappers gettin dissed
Kane held the throne the streets it was his
since they heard him just rhymin with Biz
Slick Rick took us on Adventures with his
Kool Moe Dee told us that Knowledge Is
meanwhile LL was the bells
Chuck D and Ice T told the go to hell
G Rap was RUN was the sire
MC's I never admire

10th grade I became a addict ass backwards
copped It Was Written and Illmatic
some say Ready To Die was best
but then again always Life After Death
way before Dame and Jay changed views and
on the 22 2's was my shit
just when you PAC only brought drama
he had joints Keep Ya Head Up and Dear Mama
Pun did it his way like Carlito
Big L it on Stretch and Bobbito
my man B put me on to and P
Infamous forever be a classic to me
soul has just entered the buildin
Puffy is good but Wu is for the children
Scarface ya mind playin tricks illusions
Pharoah Monch out to the confusion
tryin to out this fly chick I discovered
at the same time said He Used to Love Her
Buckshot with his Camp laced up in boots
big up to Thought never forgot his Roots
keep some Dirty Scoundrel in my stereo
forget Bustas verse on Scenario
Keith Murray was a lyrical
when grabbed the mic it was time for some aksion
party anthems Treach rocked without
the Gifted Unlimited Universal
Blackstar yet Kweli and Mos
the in and out flow belongs to Jada and the
every X verse you hear the dogs bark
OutKast the game just ask Rosa Parks

mic skills ain't got nothin to do with ya
Clef 's ill but L was my favorite member
out the Fugees the to drop
Latifahs the Queen chicks are Lyte as rock
before family feud
who that gangsta shit like Eazy E and Cube
but still lyricists smashin the cuts
up like Ras Kass and Kurupt
Mac Dre holdin down the bay
still doin the thizz though he passed away
rest in it ain't about west or east
beef the media can be a beast
overnight acts wanna top the charts
no to contribute to the art
I absolutely refuse to let it apart
The Emcee is we here to make our mark
they know
