To the bridge where the run down.
But the thugs hit Casey with a club,
They laid Preacher on the ground, poor Casey,

Hit him the head.
Tom Joad flight in the dark rainy night,
And a and a preacher lying dead, two men,
A deputy and a lying dead.

Tom run back where his was asleep;
He her up out of bed.
An' he kissed goodbye to the that he loved,
Said what Preacher said, Tom Joad,
He what Preacher Casey said.

"Ever'body be just one big soul,
Well it looks that to me.

That's I'm a-gonna be, Ma,
