You know, I the Big Packet show
In Fort Worth, night
We had all day Sunday to and relax
Before I another flight

So I decided to downtown
An' get a little fresh air
long, I found myself in front of a big Church
On the of the square

Boy, I could hear that way out in the street
It was a beautiful sound
So I just up the steps
An' opened the door an' to go inside an' sit down

But I could, a young man walked over to me
An' said, "Excuse me, sir
But I let you in with that big black hat
Those jeans, that an' long hair

So I just left, went outside
Sat down on curb
An' I thought to myself, that's the of the Lord
guy's got a hell of a nerve
Tellin' me I can't anywhere I please

So there, in front of that Church
I just down on my knees
I said, Lord, I know I don't look like
But I think You'd mind
I wanted to be with your people, Lord
It's a long time

A while ago, I saw a wino over in the alley
All over in tears
An' I thought how one stained glass window from Church
feed his family for years

Then there's fine cars parked outside
Too for me to count
me think how people walked for days
To hear sermon on the mountain

Then there's those fine in the choir, Lord
like they really love it
Hell, last night, they were dancin' on the front row of my
Drinkin' beer and screamin', Shove It!

You know, even the Baptist
Wouldn't be welcome in place
With his made of camel hair
An' on his feet an' a long beard on his face

You know, Lord, You come back to get Your children
An' 'em beyond the clouds
To live forever in Heaven Ya
Well, I'd sure hate to be in crowd

You know, Lord, I'm not
even call me No Account'
But tell You, I believe a man is judged
By what's in his heart, not his account

So if is what religion is
A big car and a an' a tie
Then I as well forget it Lord
I can't qualify

Oh, by the way, Lord, before they kicked me out
Didn't I see a of You?
sandals an' a beard?
Believe You had long too"

Well, is Paycheck, signing off
I'll be you Lord, I hope
