High in the hills of a far away land
There lived a stone hearted bitter old man
Who kept to himself and let nobody in
Nobody's lover and nobody's friend

One day a boy who was lost in the night
Heard the man crying, and tip-toed inside
He was gasping for life
So he looked in his eyes
And the man said these final words:

Take this money
And this address

It said

Now this boy was part of a family so poor
They took the money,
but he never forgot his promise
And one day he got on a plane,
Flew to the address and found a young lady
Who said that her mother had died long ago
Her father had left them and she's never known him
