There a maiden fair.
Her cheeks were red, her were blue
She had yellow, hair.

Which caught the eye and then the
Of one who could be
A of so true a mind
Or fair a as she.

Across the in Sandwick
Dwelled a youth she held most true,And ever her infancy
He had these eyes so blue.

The land runs out to the sea -It's a neck of land -Where weird and grim the Standing Stones
In a circle where stand.

They met at sad place.

Were on her face
When her lover came and he grasped her
And what loving words said
They talked of future's days,
As the stones they strayed.

They toward the lovers' stone
And through it their hands.
plighted there a constant troth
Sealed by love's bands
He his maid and then he watched her
lonely bridge go o'er.
For little, did he think
He wouldn't see his more.

out to sea
Standing Stones of the Isles
Bring my to me.

He turned his face toward his
home he did never see
And you shall the story
As it was to me.

With a gleaming bright
It his heart and his dying screams
Disturbed the night.

When she was by a cry.
And she turned to around her
And her was standing by
His hand was pointing to the
And his eyes at the light.
And a smiling countenance
He vanished her sight.

She turned and home she ran
Not a of this was said,
For well she knew at his form
That her love was dead.
And from day she pined away,
Not a smile on her face,
And with outstretched arms she went to him
In a place.
