Springtime

Springtime, a little welcome after summer
Springtime, because the winter was a bummer
Find a shady tree where I can stop and sit

Springtime, the grass is growin' right below me
Springtime, I know my summer clothes are lonely
I've grown so much this year, I hope they all still fit

In the Fall you rake leaves, and you're goin' back to school
The chill is in the air, and they're shuttin' down the pool
Summer's really hot with all the grass you gotta mow
You're sticky and you're sweaty from your head down to your toes

Springtime, I'm gonna stop and smell the flowers
Springtime, or maybe sit and stare for hours
and then lay down and watch a couple clouds go by

Springtime, I'm feelin' happy for no reason
Springtime, this is by far my favourite season
And if you're not so sure, I'm gonna tell you why

The Winter's so cold, and you're shovelin' the snow
Your nose is always runnin' and you sniff until you blow
13 months of the year is how long I have to wait
The clouds are gone, the days are long, and everything is great
