But she know til she read the inside
It was the last one from her boy.

Dear Mom, was the way it started
I you so much, it went on
Mom, I know, that I loved you so
But I'll prove it when war is won.

I'm this down in a trench, Mom
Don't scold if it isn't so
You know as you did, I was a kid
And I'd home with mud on my feet.

The captain just us our orders
And Mom, we will them through.
I'll this letter the first chance I get
But now I'll just say I you.

Then the mother's old hands began to
And she fought against in her eyes
But they came unashamed for there was no
And she knew her darling had died.

night as she knealt by her bedside
She prayed Lord above my plea
And protect all the sons are fighting tonight
And dear God America free.
