Soft as the voice of an angel our comforting way
You know all entertainers get mail from fans
And sometimes even write to us for advice
For example; I got a letter not ago
From man worked in a factory
The factory had been forced to close
And sadly the man had lost his job
He'd been out of work for a year
When his wife gave up took their kids and left him
He'd been looking for all this time
And now he's facing the situation all
He that sometimes the depression takes over
And he doesn't know how find the strength to go on
I'm not a professional counselor and certainly not a philosopher
I am a country singer but I do know experience
That sometimes there is only one that will keep your heart from breaking
And that's what I'd to offer to this young man

today what I want to whisper is hope
Whispering hope oh how welcome thy
I got letter from a single mom
Telling me she and her two are just barely getting by
The child support come late and sometimes they don't come at all
The cost of sending the kids to school is every day
She is working two jobs just to make ends
She says sometimes there is no light at the end of the tunnel only darkness
And sometimes she feels like it all
I just hope she will remember these
'till the darkness is over wait 'till the tempest is gone
Hope for the tomorrow after the shower is gone
No matter how and how turbulent things may seem
The will turn to light and the storm will calm
I hope these folks are listening as I these words of hope
Not for them but for any one
Who himself in a seemingly hopeless situation
It may be the homeless the sick the family
The business man the leaders of our country
Anybody can be overcome by sorrow and
And while I am one man with one voice
I can lift it up in a message
That wherever there is there is hope
