I painted in school to pass the time
The behind the easel eased my mind
still a still hanging in my den
The in white all rushing to the sand

Past few years I haven't done too
Since open tops have done enough
And even if I found in the day
I wouldn't have a glance to away

Take me home to my brick back in Brentwood
The one my parents could afford
Set the fireflies and purple skies in
And let me stay outside a more

Dreams that dripped off my father's brush
Don't mean too much beside my touch
So find for me the blue paint
Her little eyes gorgeous at the age

Let me mind and let me find for my family
To the things they never need to say
And when there's someone missing from the window
paint one where her smile never fades
