THE LADY AND THE SON

Young lovers all, I draw near
And a relation you shall
Of how a lady was
By of a farmer's son.

His age, it was twenty-two

Because he knew he was to wed
Sally, her chamber-maid.

'Tis now she lies in jail.

Distracted did young man run,
In lies the farmer's son.

'Twas by the help of gold,
This maiden's life was sold.
now a lass and you may see
Has the ruin of all three.
